The Diocese of Knoxville has adopted the Science Curriculum from the State of Tennessee.

Labs

The Seventh Grade Science Curriculum includes laboratory activities.  Students will be familiar with microscopes, laboratory measurement equipment, and be proficient in conducting a science experiment and write a formal laboratory report.

Syllabus

The syllabus and proposed pacing guide for Seventh Grade Science includes Life Science: studying plant and animal cell organelles, organ systems, cell processes such as cell transport, photosynthesis and cellular respiration, heredity;Earth science, including geology; and Physical Science including simple machines, force, motion and waves.

Saint Albert The Great Science Fair

The Saint Joseph School Saint Albert the Great Science Fair will be held on Wednesday, January 30th, 2019 in the School Library from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 am. Sixth, Seventh and Eighth Grades conducted individual experiments and will present their projects at the science fair.

Students who place first, second and third place will participate in the Southern Appalachian Science and Engineering Fair 2018 to be held April 2nd – 4th, 2019 (judging will be on April 2nd, awards ceremony on April 4th) at Thompson Bowling Arena at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
